New Podcasts, Broadcast 8, and Trouble With Amazon.UK

On February 13, 2013 That Geek Podcast starts a new season with a new episode on Crewcast Radio. I really enjoy that show, and feel truly fortunate to sit down with Sylvie and Stephanie. I think we're still discovering how to do this, and it's going well.

Meanwhile, I'm starting the real work on Spinward Fringe Broadcast 8, which will lead me right into Broadcast 9. After completing Broadcast 7, seeing what that controversial book has done in the world, taken the critical jabs along with the praise, I feel I've got a great plan for Spinward Fringe Broadcasts 8, 9 and 10.

They're a set. Broadcasts 8 and 9 are made to be written together. I'll be taking a quick break to write something else between Broadcasts 9 and 10 then getting right back to it to finish that trilogy. Broadcast 7: Framework was a very serious book with a lot of character growth and exposition. That's going to pay off in Broadcasts eight through ten, which will be written with a greater focus on adventure.

I'm also very glad to announce that there will be a new Spinward Fringe Podcast episode soon with a few surprises about Spinward Fringe and other projects that are just in the beginning stages. This year I'd like to release three or four books, none of which are complete yet. Two of them will be Spinward Fringe novels, the other one hasn't been chosen. There will be other news in this upcoming podcast, so keep an eye on the Crewcast Radio site.

Before I go, I'd like to point to an issue I'm having with Amazon.co.uk. Without explanation, they've hiked the price of Spinward Fringe: Origins from free to $2.99 US. This is a book that's been free everywhere else for over two years now, and I'd like to keep it that way - but I need your help. They won't listen to me, or allow me to set the price to free myself unless I sell that book exclusively on Amazon - something I'm not willing to do.

I'd like to ask you for your help. If you want to free Origins all you have to do is visit the book page on Amazon.co.uk and scroll down to a link that says "tell us about a lower price?" Click there and enter in the link of any site that is offering the book for free. Here are some examples:

Smashwords: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/3178

Thank you so much for your support in freeing Origins, and in everything else so far. I'm so excited about 2013 and hope to entertain you better than ever.

Been happening with a lot of free books recently, not the first time I have had to do this for an author I enjoy.
